60th Annual Detroit St. Patrick's Parade Marching Orders
Sir Knights and Cousins, Greetings,
Linked are the official parade marching orders from the United Irish Societies which will give you all the details about the parade. If you want to skip the details and just get to the important parts here they are: We have been placed in the fourth division. On the map below you can see that means we are on 6th St. at the north corner of Porter St., extending back past Abbot St. Basically we're on 6th lined up behind Trinity Church. 11:30 is when the marshals come around and arrange all the groups and we step off at 12:30 sharp. There are free parking lots that has been secured for marchers between Porter and Abbot, just tell them you're with the United Irish Societies, and you're in division four and you'll get in.
It's supposed to hit 40 on Sunday, but that's all we're getting so dress warm. But the sun will be shining, so we're not looking too bad on that front. Dress code is dark suits, or overcoats with Knight Masons apron and sash, with sword, or if you have any brothers coming with you who are not Knight Masons, dark suits or overcoats with Royal Arch or Blue Lodge regalia.
After the parade we'll be meeting at Slows To Go, for some BBQ and our usual informal festive board.
